burning man project

Creative direction, identity design, and experiential systems developed in collaboration with the Burning Man Project across cultural programming, public initiatives, and large-scale participatory environments. The work focused on translating collective authorship, temporary architecture, and civic values into clear, adaptable design frameworks that could function across physical, digital, and immersive contexts.

Projects ranged from environmental identity and wayfinding to regenerative land stewardship, augmented-reality navigation, and public exhibitions, supporting both on-playa experiences and year-round institutional initiatives.

Vision Beyond Borders ⇄ app + Fly Ranch ⇄ logo design

A collage of four smartphone screens showing augmented reality maps with various icons and labels, and a black flag with white text that reads 'WHITE OUT' against a pink and purple sunset background with horizontal lines.
Four mobile app screens with a desert background, creating a digital interface. The first screen shows a logo with a stylized eye and a vertical striped design beneath the text 'WHITE OUT'. The second screen prompts for name and phone number input. The third screen contains a philosophical message about using a phone as a vision tool, with a black button labeled 'OK!'. The fourth screen invites users to upload a photo, displaying a colorful, stylized profile picture, with buttons to upload from library and complete.

Whiteout's Vision Beyond Borders app is a camera-based, on-the-ground guide for Burning Man’s Fly Ranch or navigating any site. The app works day or night, even in zero visibility conditions like dust storms.

A desert scene with a blue sky and the words 'Vision Beyond Borders' and 'To Build a Better Future... We Must Envision It First' written above a logo of a stylized eagle and geometric shapes.
